RACING IN LEEDS |
|
|
During
the past decade or so racing has become an exciting night
out for thousands of people and just because Leeds is
in the North, this doesn’t mean we’re talking
pigeons. The thrill of the bet is obviously enticing but
it’s not simply about finding a quick way to lose
money.
In fact, now people go to the races for a variety of reasons
but all with the same aim: having fun.
The Wetherby Race Course is situated off on the
B1224 Wetherby/York Road and is unique in Yorkshire because
it only stages jump racing. With arguably the finest jumping
course in the North, the quality of Wetherby's racing
is renowned throughout the sport. Many of the greatest
steeple chasers and hurdlers of all time have graced the
turf there.
If you like the idea of participating in all the thrills
and spills of racing, why not pop along to Pole Position
[map]
, a mile from Leeds city centre. Pole Position is
a high-adrenaline venue for groups of people keen to go
karting. This is the perfect place for stag weekend participants
and work colleagues to get racing – and even if
you can’t have an official bet on your chances,
you could always place your wager in beer.
